Concert Bands This year Alder will now debut two concert bands! Each group is audition based and will be starting in November. Students will be asked to play scales and play several short excerpts from potential pieces for the year. Students will then be placed in the band that meets their needs. More information can be found under the concert band tab! Both Ensembles are conducted by Mr. Justin Hennig!
Marching Band "The Pride of the Pioneers" begins in early August and concludes in Mid- November. The Marching Band preforms at every Varsity Football Game, and several weekend performances and parades! The Jonathan Alder Marching Band participated in and won the Italian Festival Parade and Showcase in 2015. In 2016, The Marching Band was invited to the televised ABC 6 Dunkin' Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! This year, Jonathan Alder will be attending several band shows! Students who are apart of the band program are required to be in Marching Band if they wish to continue with Concert Band. Students who would like to participate in a sport can do so! All conflicts in schedule will be resolved between the directors and the coaches. Students may be exempt from participating in Marching Band if they are on the Varsity Football and Cheer leading teams as those activities have a direct conflict with Marching Band. Pep Band Pep Band is an extra curricular ensemble. A select number of students meet and preform at various Basketball games throughout the Winter months. Students will be asked to meet after school a few times prior to the start of the season to rehearse and review the tunes. Students will also meet prior to the games each week to warm-up and be prepared for the game! Students will be released after halftime of the Varsity Basketball games!
